Nelson Staffing Unrealistic Job Requirement

I have worked for this staffing agency before, and I have to say that their recruiters are these mommy-pampered, iPod-using, recent graduates that love to hire their own kind.  The brainless types.  Here is an example of lazy recruiting.

Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute a successful sales plan that consists of prospecting for new business in targeted markets and accountants --A fancy word to a simple sales plan, which is not always executed as planned.  Weird situations can arise and you can’t always have what you want.
  • Penetrate major organizations identifying decision makers, including end-users and executives Poorly worded.  It reminds me of DMV questions.
  • Meet and exceed annual growth targets for assigned territory
  • Forecasting future business by learning customer buying procedures and needs
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and/or experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers and signal generators  --Really?
What are the odds of running into a Sales Account Manager with knowledge of oscilloscopes and logic analyzers?  Imagine the ratio of applicants who will be deterred to apply versus the ones who are rash and usually unskilled, but will apply anyway.

  • BSEE or equivalent
  • Proven track record of successful high-technology sales, highly motivated and success driven
  • Solid communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent time and territory management habits
Note to people under UE, stay away from companies who can’t recruit properly.
